YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN ALCOHOLIC TO CHANGE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ALCOHOL
Over five years ago, I began to take my relationship with Christ seriously and decided it was time to ditch the booze. As a Faith & Wellness Coach already in the coaching industry, I KNEW God was calling me higher, calling me to step into the next level of my God-given potential. The only thing holding me back was alcohol.
I wasn’t an everyday drinker, but I found myself using alcohol to cope with the unhealthy relationship I had been in for years. I always describe it as a special kind of misery—being in the in-between of not being an alcoholic but knowing I needed to change my relationship with alcohol. I tried moderating and taking breaks, but nothing ever stuck. I always ended up in the same binge drinking cycle, weighed down by guilt and shame.
As I grew closer to the Lord, His convictions about alcohol and my relationship became impossible to ignore. I knew I needed to make a change.
I left the relationship, and the next step was fully letting go of alcohol. However, this decision led me to my rock-bottom moment. After leaving the relationship, I started drinking even more. The days I was alcohol-free became fewer and fewer until one night after drinking, I woke up with overwhelming anxiety, guilt, and shame. It was in that moment I knew something had to change. For the first time in my life, I felt like I was losing control.
I felt the Holy Spirit whisper, "If you don't stop drinking now, you won't fulfill the purpose I have for you." I knew if I continued this cycle with alcohol, I would become an alcoholic and end up in an even darker place.
Navigating heartbreak and this new journey with Christ, I FINALLY decided to let go of alcohol. I wasn’t an alcoholic and didn’t want a recovery program or AA, as I didn’t align with these approaches. Instead, I called my pastors, hired a sober coach and a Christian therapist, and started to REALLY do the work.
Since 2018, I’ve been alcohol-free, and life is good. Today, I teach Christian women like you to embrace an alcohol-free life and unlock your true purpose. We approach this through a biblical and practical lens so you can break free for good!
