As I enter another Christmas season, I find myself wondering how I will "show up" this year. Have you been pondering that as well?
Embracing the Holiday Season
We often face misgivings and uncertainties as we prepare for the holiday season. Chaos surrounds us, and if we’re honest, it can also dwell within us.
As Christian women, the Bible is our only refuge. It is the only way to quiet the noise and chaos around us and within us. Whatever you dread about this season, surrender it to the Lord. What is that one thing that has "snuck up on you" yet again? Give it over to the Lord. He is the One whose birth we celebrate. He never stops seeking us. His relentless love transforms our brokenness into beauty and our despair into hope.
Let’s take a moment to pause. Quiet our minds and bow before God. Take a deep breath… Exhale… Pause… Pray… Oh, how we need You, Lord Jesus! We need Your grace and mercy during this time.
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” — Hebrews 6:16 (NKJV)
Understanding the Invitation
LET US
This phrase invites us to come, to approach, and to draw near.
BOLDLY
To speak freely and openly, without concealment. It means to have fearless confidence and cheerful courage.
THRONE
A seat of authority, symbolizing kingly power. To God, it represents divine governance. For Christ, it signifies His role in divine administration.
How I long to draw near to the Lord, don’t you? I believe it is His relentless love and the Holy Spirit that cultivate this desire within us. Imagine the day we will be around the throne, seeing Him face to face.
The Meaning of Grace
GRACE
Oh, girls! This word embodies joy, pleasure, and kindness. It is the merciful influence that God exerts upon our souls, turning us to Christ. This holy influence is what we carry into this season. He is with us. Can you see it? I hope you can recognize His relentless love and the grace that sustains you.
MERCY
Mercy is God’s clemency, offering salvation through Christ. It is the promise of eternal life.
IN TIME OF NEED
This phrase signifies a well-timed and opportune moment.
A Different Approach This Year
Let’s enter this holiday season with a new perspective. In the quietness of His relentless love, we bow our hearts before Him. We confess our great need for Him. We draw near, coming boldly to His throne of grace, finding mercy and help in our time of need.
Oh, how we need You, Lord! Oh Lord Jesus, how we need You! Let us be women who cling to His promises of help and grace.
Conclusion
As we navigate this holiday season, let’s remember the importance of drawing near to God. In moments of chaos and uncertainty, we can find peace in His presence. Let’s embrace His grace and mercy, allowing them to guide us through the challenges we face.
We are not alone. His love is relentless, and His grace is sufficient. This season, let’s commit to seeking Him wholeheartedly, trusting that He will provide for our every need.
