Time for a Reset

As we approach the second half of the year, let us reflect on Ephesians 3:14-20.
I pray we remain rooted in love—for ourselves and for others—standing firm in faith, led by God’s Spirit, and energized by His power as we bring Him glory through our words and actions. No matter the challenge, crisis, or storm, each day—as Christ followers—in every human interaction, we have the opportunity to be a light in the darkness.
3 STEPS TO RESET
1 – REMEMBER
Remind yourself who you are—not just here on earth, but in God’s Kingdom.
You are a child of light
Don’t allow anyone or anything to distract you or derail your mission—not your job, your status, your family role, your follower count, or what someone did or said.
Regardless of what’s been done to you…In spite of past mistakes, trauma, or failures…No matter the doubts or fears that try to haunt you…
You are here, right now, with your own unique gifts and talents. Everything about you and your life can be used by God to help, heal, and inspire others.
Carry the weight of sacrifice for a greater purpose—in response to His call.
2 – RECOMMIT
Reestablish your commitment to remain rooted in love—no matter what comes your way
Love is the source of strength.
It is how God’s power flows, how the Spirit dwells, transforms, and works far beyond your own capacity. Love keeps you anchored, nourished, and steady—no matter the circumstance.
When you respond to a coworker, remain rooted in God’s love. When you wrestle with the pain of someone’s actions, remain rooted in God’s love.
When you’re disappointed in yourself, remain rooted in God’s love. When you worry about the future, remain rooted in God’s love. When making a major decision, remain rooted in God’s love.
When you accept God’s love, trust it, and operate through it, you begin to understand there is far more happening than what meets the eye.
You can relinquish control and surrender to His plan, no matter what’s on your own agenda.
Rooted in Love, your heart becomes a home where Christ’s Spirit dwells—not just visits—and His power fills you with the wisdom and strength to navigate any season.
3 – REFOCUS
Reflect on what has consumed your time and attention, and renew your focus on what truly matters.
God is the only One you are called to please.
Ask yourself: Who or what has received most of your energy—your time, your finances, your attention—so far this year?
Consider this: In which pursuit are you most disciplined and dedicated?
The pursuit of beauty? The pursuit of acceptance? The pursuit of the future? The pursuit of power and influence?
Or the pursuit of extending Christ’s love through every human interaction?
Let’s shift our focus to being Christ followers—His examples walking the earth.
That is our ultimate purpose: to be the light as we steward what He has already entrusted to us, and to live lives that inspire others to draw closer to God—living witnesses, walking testimonies of His transformational power, not only internally, but shining brightly through every life we touch.
As this year draws closer to its end, let our desire to please God and to be a light to others reign supreme. Let’s seek God’s face together, ready to sacrifice and maintain a consistent focus on making choices that align with God’s call on our life.
A Moment of Reflection:
With less than six months left in 2025, let’s pause and ask: “Lord, what do You want to accomplish through me before the year ends? Reflect on Ephesians 3:14-20.
A Prayer to Reset by Myra Johnson
Lord,
I come to You today
fully aware of my limitations.
I need You.
So much has happened this year—
and I want to take a moment
to rededicate the second half of it to You.
When I think about my obligations,
my dreams,
the chaos in the world—
it’s overwhelming.
My to-do list…
the people in my life…
the frustrations I am managing…
my health…
and the reality
that there never seems to be enough time.
As much as I try to plan,
foresee,
dictate,
and craft the future,
the truth is—
I don’t know what lies ahead.
I am reminded often
that I don’t have all the answers.
Unexpected things happen.
Plans will change.
And I have to keep adapting, learning, and growing.
So I speak in faith, Lord.
I declare and believe that—
Your love,
Your wisdom,
and Your power
will carry me through.
I lay my worries,
my anxieties,
my hurts,
my failures,
and my fears
at Your feet.
I choose to surrender my plans—
all of my goals,
agendas,
and dreams—
to You.
And I will patiently await
Your divine timing,
because that is what truly matters.
Above all I see,
feel,
hear,
and experience—
I will stand firm in faith
and trust You.
I know I am a child of light—
chosen to draw others close to You.
Fill me with Your Spirit.
Dwell within me.
Prepare my heart and mind
to respond to this season—
and all of its requirements
and opportunities.
Help me to rise each day,
seek Your face,
and allow You
to work through me.
Clear my path, Lord.
Remove anything
that prevents me
from using the gifts and talents
You’ve given me
to fulfill the purpose
You’ve placed on my life.
No matter what happens—
help me to remain rooted in love
for myself and for others.
Help me to be strong and courageous.
To be a faithful steward
of my vessel,
my time,
my resources,
and my relationships.
Help me to represent You
in all I say and do.
Let the work of my hands
bring glory to You—
and to You alone.
Amen.
