When Love Finds You in the Waiting

When Love Finds You in the Waiting by Francine Ivey

Waiting.

It’s not a word we love. We want movement, momentum, miracles—and we want them now.

But what if the waiting season isn’t punishment... what if it’s preparation?

Between the Old Testament and the New, there were 400 years of silence—no prophets, no new revelation, no sign that God was still moving. Heaven seemed quiet. People must have wondered if He’d forgotten them.

Yet, behind the scenes, Love was setting the stage. The right rulers were being positioned. The perfect time in history was being woven together. And at the appointed moment, when the world least expected it, Love came wrapped in flesh.

“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son...” — Galatians 4:4 (NIV)

GOD’S SILENCE ISN’T HIS ABSENCE

Sometimes we mistake God’s quiet for abandonment. We think if we can’t hear Him, He must not be near. But silence doesn’t mean distance—it often means development.

The waiting season is where God strengthens your faith, refines your heart, and aligns your steps. He’s not withholding the promise; He’s preparing you to carry it.

Think of Mary. One ordinary day, she was just a young woman in Nazareth. The next, she was carrying the Savior of the world. Yet even after the angel’s announcement, she had to wait—month after month—for the promise inside her to grow.

Some of you are in that same space—carrying something holy that hasn’t yet been seen. Don’t rush the process. Love is working in the unseen places.

HE’S NOT LATE—HE’S STRATEGIC

We live in a world of instant everything. But God doesn’t measure time the way we do. He’s not slow; He’s strategic. The same God who orchestrated the census that sent Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem has also orchestrated your steps.

The same God who placed a star in the sky for the wise men to follow knows exactly where you are and how to get you where you’re meant to be. Your detours, delays, and “not yets” are not

derailments—they’re divine direction.

LOVE THAT PURSUES YOU

Christmas isn’t just the story of a baby in a manger; it’s the story of a God who refused to give up on His people. It’s the story of relentless love that refused to stay distant. Love that came running through history, through silence, through generations of waiting—just to reach you.

So, if this season finds you waiting—for healing, for answers, for breakthrough, for purpose—don’t mistake the stillness for abandonment. God is closer than you think.

You may feel stuck, but Heaven is moving. You may feel hidden, but Love has not lost your address. At just the right time, what He has promised will be revealed. "For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay". — Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV)

WHEN LOVE FINDS YOU

The truth is, you don’t have to chase Him down. You don’t have to perform your way into

His presence. You just have to posture your heart like Mary did and say,

“Let it be unto me according to Your word.”

Love is coming for you—in your living room, in your car, in your quiet surrender. He hasn’t forgotten you. He hasn’t passed you by. When the waiting feels heavy, remember:

You are not being overlooked—you are being prepared. And in the fullness of time, His relentless

love will find you too.
