Chris Craft
Chris Craft knows that God is never finished writing our stories. When an unexpected job loss ended a ministry she and her husband had faithfully served for decades, the Lord led her back to writing for the first time in forty years. What began as a path toward healing soon became a new calling—to encourage others facing life's unexpected endings. Chris writes the Crafting Wisdom Substack, where she encourages readers to discover that every story ends with hope. Her first book, The Beautiful Detour, will be published this November.
Note from Chris
Dearest Sisters,
I am so privileged to meet you here.
It’s difficult for me to fathom how far the Lord has brought me in just two short years.
He has granted me beauty for ashes and blessed me with a writing ministry to share
hope with women like you.
Although I’ve written thousands of sentences in recent months, my message for you
today consists of three simple words:
Jesus is real.
If you’re sitting on your porch reading this, Jesus is as real as the crisp autumn breeze
softly caressing your cheek.
That’s how I experienced His gentle touch when He brushed away my tears.
Maybe you’re surrounded by the joyful lilt of birdsong as you read.
If you listen closely, you may hear the soft voice of Jesus as I did when a mockingbird
sang in a tree outside my window one lonely summer night.
And, dear sister, if you find yourself in the midst of a storm as you read these
words—broken and battered, with your heart lying shattered on the floor—hold on to
this truth: Jesus is real.
When my trust was dismantled, I resisted as I felt the Potter's steady fingers gently
piecing my soul back together.
He mended the cracks with gold so that others would see my scars and ask, “What
happened to you,” and “How did you survive?”
Others have witnessed my scars and been perplexed by my joy.
I tell them what I’m telling you today.
Jesus is real.
His gift of salvation is real.
His promise of an abundant life is real.
His pledge never to leave us nor forsake us is real—and it will remain so until the day
He welcomes us home.
May you feel His presence in the wind, hear His loving whispers in the trees, and marvel
at the shimmer of the Potter's touch.
And may you know as I do, that Jesus is wonderfully, faithfully, gloriously real.
Joyfully serving the King,
Chris Craft
