Note from Dawn

Hello Sisters,
Welcome to the Sisterhood, I am glad you are here!
It is truly an honor for me to be here writing among some of the most amazing woman.

You will find they all have so much to offer and share about what life is like living as
followers of Jesus.

A little about myself, I am a wife, Mama and “Greema”.

My husband and I have been together forty years, married thirty-three years. We raised our two children here on his family farm. We are the third generation to own it and plan to pass it down to future generations.

Speaking of future Generations, I mentioned I am a Greema. This is the name my two granddaughters have given me since they were tiny. They are now five years old. They keep me very busy, but I love our time together
and being blessed with them living close by. We are expecting our first Grandson soon.

As a retired preschool teacher, I know how quickly children can learn when given the time to play and explore. They have plenty of space to do that on the farm. My favorite thing to teach them is about Jesus. I have taught them that he is in the beauty all around us. They take it all in, and they amaze me by how much they can understand. So important to teach them the love of their heavenly father early. They just recently made their own armor of God out of cardboard boxes. Preparing for school, we say, “Suit up!”

My dream of becoming a writer started very early in my life. I was eight years old when I won a ribbon in my third-grade class. It was a Young Authors Event where everyone in the class had to write a story to be submitted.

Through the years, I have written some poetry for family and a few other things, but I have never published anything other than a few short articles in local papers or farm magazines. But my dream was to be a published author of a book. I struggled with reading as a kid, yet my favorite place was the library. I loved books.

I never thought this dream would come true. But as I write this note to you now, I am a published author. My first novel was published recently and is now available on Amazon.

“Flowers Can Bloom Through Ashes” is a novel I wrote with young readers in mind; however, it is a story that I believe adults can enjoy as well. It is a story of Hope and Redemption. It is about learning to be vulnerable. About being fully known and loved by those around us.

When I write, my goal is to help my readers learn something, not just enjoy a good story.

I want to lead others to Jesus without preaching to them. I want them to see him in me and my writing. I hope you are encouraged by my article.

Be Blessed.
