Come Away and Abide: Trading Hustle for Holiness

Updated: Sep 1

The Power of Abiding John 15:4 says,

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”

Sisters, abiding is not passive. It is a powerful posture of trust. It’s a lifestyle of staying near, being nourished by God, and allowing His life to flow through ours.

It means surrendering control, letting go of timelines, and learning to rest in God’s promises more than our performance. I know this can be hard, but it is crucial to our faith growth.

This season, I’ve chosen to rise early with no agenda—just my Bible, a journal, and an open heart. Some days I worship. Some days I weep. Some days I sit in silence. But every day… I abide. And it’s in these quiet moments I’m reminded that fruitfulness doesn’t come from force—it comes from faithfulness.

The Blessing of Stillness

The more I get still with God, the louder His voice becomes. The more I unplug from the world, the more plugged in I feel to my purpose. The more I step back from striving, the more I step into clarity, peace, and vision.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us,  “Be still and know that I am God.”

Stillness is not weakness. It’s strength under surrender. In the stillness, God heals the weary soul. He restores direction. He reminds us of our identity—not in what we do—but in whose we are.

No Longer Hustling for Approval

As women—especially leaders, mothers, mentors, and dreamers—we often feel like we have to do it all. But God is calling us back to His lap, not just His labor.

This fall, let’s choose to slow down and lean in. Let’s remember that Jesus Himself often withdrew to quiet places to pray (Luke 5:16). If He—the Savior of the world—needed time away with the Father, how much more do we?

An Invitation to You

What would it look like for you to come away with Jesus this season?

  • Maybe it means waking up 10 minutes earlier just to sit in His presence.

  • Maybe it’s stepping away from social media for a week and opening your Bible instead.

  • Maybe it’s trading hustle for holy habits—worship, prayer, Sabbath, solitude.

You don’t have to earn God’s love—you already have it.You don’t have to produce more to be more—He delights in you as you are.

This is your invitation. Not to run harder, but to come closer.

Come away with Him. Abide. And watch how everything changes.

I am cheering for you in every way! You are not alone, and He is walking through life with you!

A Prayer to Abide

Father God,

Thank you for inviting me to come away with You.Teach me how to abide—not just in moments of stillness, but in every part of my day.Quiet the noise around me so I can hear Your voice clearly.Help me release the pressure to perform, and instead rest in Your presence.Renew my strength, restore my joy, and remind me that I am fully known and deeply loved by You.This season, I choose intimacy over hustle.I choose to remain.I choose You.

In Jesus’ name,Amen.
