The Mediterranean Lamb Burger

A lighter, herby option with bold, fresh flavors.

Ingredients:

  • Ground lamb patty (seasoned with garlic, cumin, and oregano)

  • Crumbled feta cheese

  • Sliced cucumbers

  • Tomato slices

  • Red onion

  • Tzatziki sauce

  • Toasted pita or bun of choice

Recipe for Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat for creaminess)

  • 1 small cucumber, grated (about ½ cup), seeds removed

  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (or more to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Grate the cucumber, then squeeze it in a clean towel or paper towels to remove as much water as possible. This prevents a watery sauce.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill.

  3. Stir well to combine, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend beautifully.

Tips:

  • For extra tang, add a bit of red wine vinegar.

  • Keeps well in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.

  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced or grated (optional)
