God Loves You; Not Because You’re Lovely! But Because He is Love!

ree

For any born-again believer who asks God for something in accordance with His will, they receive His word (or promise). And as they faithfully stand by that promise, without focusing on their situation, they get to see it manifest in their physical life.

But, hold on, this is not a formula or a way of getting things done through God.

It’s His unconditional love for us, which we don’t even deserve. I am neither condemning myself nor anyone here. But this is the truth. It is because of Jesus, who chose to die and was resurrected on the third day for all of us, that we are redeemed through His precious blood and have His righteousness restored to our lives. It is because of His righteousness that we have the gift of direct access to God.

This is a regular gospel that has been shared worldwide. Some accept and some don’t.

Out here, I am going to write about those who accept. Oh! What a joyful moment that is when we accept Jesus as our personal saviour.

But then, slowly and gradually, why do things start becoming ritual? Why do we start getting diverted into church politics and become lukewarm? Although there are many factors associated with it,  I am going to write about the most important one.

It is the absence of the revelational knowledge of God’s love for us and what Jesus did for us.

I was a born Hindu who got saved when I was 25 years old. I was not accustomed to going to church. I was not a Bible reader. Yet God chose me, and I accepted Him, and I got saved. So, one thing is pretty clear here. I did not do anything to get myself chosen by God. There is zero performance on my part to get my name in the Book of Life.

So then why, suddenly, after getting saved, does going to church regularly, reading the bible regularly, and fellowshipping with believers,  become a goal to please God?

Does this sound relatable?

I was also initially trapped in that circle when I used to feel guilty for not doing all these things.

Before you jump to a conclusion, please note that I am not saying one should avoid doing all the above things. These are an integral part of Christian Living, but one needs to do this with the right intention. Because God sees the heart, and he knows what’s in every person’s heart.

The word says in Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) –

“Above all else, guard your heart,  for everything you do flows from it.”

So, what is that right intention?

Well, we should have this revelational knowledge in our hearts that we are doing all these things not to please God but to know Him. To have a very intimate relationship with Him. I want to make it very clear that this knowledge does not get built up in one day. We need to give our time to Him, which is why we should do all the things mentioned above with a sincere heart to know Him, not to earn His blessings, because blessings are the byproduct of knowing Him. Again, we do not know Him, because blessings are the byproducts. We know Him, because it's His will for us to know Him. When we know Him, then we are set free. Hallelujah!

As it is written in Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) –

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

This is the very nature of God to bless us. He has always blessed us. Hallelujah!

Let us talk about Love. Many things have been written and spoken about Love. But what is Love?

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 defines Love very clearly. Jesus, who was fully man and fully God, obeyed His father and willingly sacrificed His life for mankind, who brutally rejected Him. That’s our benchmark for Love. We are to love others in a similar fashion, but this is not possible with human strength.

So, you see, God loved mankind so much that He knew mankind would not be able to love others back the way He does. Therefore, He provided His love to reside in our hearts so that we can love others with the same intensity as He does.

All this was possible only and only through Jesus, and this is why

Worthy is the lamb!

As you receive this revelational knowledge in your heart, you will shout and praise God effortlessly, not like a ritual. Just like it’s been done in this verse below:

Revelation 5:12 (NKJV) -

“Saying with a loud voice: 'Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!'”
